Trinity Sunday

This morning's service recognized the Kids Zone program which will be winding down for the summer in two weeks time. The children helped to light the Indigenous Candle, using their hand signals. "We are all treaty people here in Calgary." The children were presented with book marks, a goodie bag and the team, led by MaryAnn received special recognition.

In the Balcony this morning as part of the PSALT team were MaryAnn, Debra, Brenda and Hugo. Counters were Berney Nemeth and Bob Clare and on Sacred Service were Helen, Darlene and Janet and their team. It was a special morning because it was followed by the June picnic. We were invited to bring a packed lunch and eat together. Weather was a tad cool so most of us found space in the T.M. room to do that eating and visiting.

Rev. Nancy reviewed for us the biblical background of the meaning of Trinity in the UCC and in our lives. "God is revealed through the Spirit, the Creator and in Jesus." The confirmation class that Rev. Nancy led in the spring found new words to capture the age-old language of the Trinity, those being Lover, Beloved and Loving. I've tried to capture the essence of her reflection in the file attachment. Enjoy!

Chamber Choir offered two anthems this morning: Holy, Blessed Trinity (Peter Illich Tchaikovsky) and Cantate Domino (Giovanni Francesco Anerio). Scripture reader was Frans Heynen.
