On Being Positive- Let's Go Fly a Kite

As the worship folders were distributed this morning (by the June Sacred Service team), we knew we would be thinking about summer and its importance in our yearly cycle. The prelude featured the Recorder Ensemble of Feckla Spaulding (Soprano), Wendy Rae (Alto), Mackenzie Fraser (Tenor) and Sarah McCune (Bass and Alto) and this quartet offered Music for Reflection - "Sheep May Safely Graze" (Bach) and "Largo" from Xerxes (Handel) during the service.

Eldon Godfrey's readings included a quote by Hildegard of Bingen along with Proverbs 17:22 and 23:7, Luke 6:43-44a, 45, 12:22-27 and from Philippians 2:1-4 and 4:8. A mindfulness moment following the Reflection reminded us that "Summer is such a treasure chest of wonder with its growing gardens, coloured flowers, warming sunlight and infinite blessings.  In what ways will you let these summer days feed your hearts, restore your bodies and rejuvenate your energy.  Summer's wisdom is all around us; how open are you to listen and hear her message?"
