The scriptures that Amy selected for Sunday's service came from Isaiah and Luke. Isaiah responds to God's call with an ethusiastic, "Here am I, Lord!" Peter, despite being exhausted from a night of unsuccessful fishing, responds to Jesus' request to try once more, tossing his nets to the side.
"Send me" could be a great title for Amy's reflection. Both Peter and Isaiah were called upon to make a decision. The heart of Amy's reflection was acknowledging February as Black History Month. The video produced by the United Church of Canada was shared, we heard the Sankofa Teaching and the songs we sung were favourites -- "Here I am, Lord" and "Come follow me" -- both songs about decision making.
